April 26, 2023
On April 5, 2023 Governor Murphy signed A4924/S3724 into law, authorizing the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA) to award summer tuition aid grants (Summer TAG) in the summer of 2023. The summer 2023 Summer TAG awards are a trailer to the academic year 2022-2023.
To be eligible for Summer TAG this year a student must:
- have received a TAG award in the Fall 2022 and/or the Spring 2023 term
- be enrolled in six or more credit hours in the summer 2023 term;
- be enrolled in courses that are in the same undergraduate program at the same institution in which the student was enrolled during the fall or spring semester of academic year 2022-2023; and
- be enrolled in courses that may be credited towards the student’s graduation or academic major requirements.
The amount of a student’s Summer TAG will be prorated based on the full-time TAG award the student received in the preceding semester(s) as follows:
- an eligible student enrolled with six to eight credit-hours during the summer will receive one-half of the value of a full-time semester award, and
- an eligible student enrolled with nine to 11 credit-hours during the summer will receive three-quarters of a full-time award.
- an eligible student enrolled with 12 or more credit-hours during the summer will receive the equivalent of a full-time semester award.
Centenary University is a TAG Participating Institution. Questions should be sent to finaid@centenaryuniversity.edu.
