Hackettstown, N.J., September 28, 2017 –  Centenary University was featured in the newly released MONEY 2017/2018 list for the 711 Best Colleges for Your Money. Centenary University was ranked for best value for educational quality, affordability and alumni success. The sources for this list compilation are the United States Department of Education, Peterson’s, Payscale.com and Money/College Measures calculations.

MONEY’s Best Colleges for Your Money rankings are the first to combine the most accurate pricing estimates available with all reliable indicators of alumni financial success, along with a unique analysis of how much “value” a college adds when compared to other schools that take in similar students. A college’s “value-add” is determined by calculating its performance on important measures, such as graduation rates, student loan repayment and default rates, and post-graduation earnings, after adjusting for the types of students it admits. It is believed this analysis gives students and parents a much better indication of which colleges will provide real value for their tuition dollars.

In building the rankings, MONEY focused on the three basic factors that surveys show are the most important to parents and students, which are quality of education, affordability and outcomes. Since these three factors are so interrelated and crucial to families, they received equal weights in the ranking. In each of the three major categories, advisers were consulted to identify the most reliable and useful data to assess a school’s performance.
