Hackettstown, N.J., October 11, 2017 – Denton Stargel has recently been named Centenary University’s Vice President for Finance and Business. In this role, Stargel will manage the business and financial sectors of the university.

The Glen Rock resident has over 30 years in experience in the area of finance, strategic planning and sales. He most recently served as Vice President for Finance and Business at St. Peter’s University, where he provided supervision of all financial and business matters since 2011. Previously he was the Vice President of Finance at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in the Bronx where he reversed multi-year operational deficits, developed and implemented budgetary controls, oversaw all business affairs and managed multiple capital projects. Stargel began his career as an Admissions Counselor at Erskine College in South Carolina.

Denton brings a wealth of high level financial and business experience to the institution,” says Dr. David P. Haney, Centenary University President. “He possesses the energy, integrity and drive that is needed to be successful in this position, as well as a commitment to continuous improvement and a willingness to embrace challenges. In his first few weeks he has already addressed long-standing financial issues that are essential to the university’s success.”

Centenary University’s main campus is located in Hackettstown, N.J., with its equestrian facility in Washington Township (Morris County). The Centenary School of Professional Studies offers degree programs online and in two locations: Parsippany and Edison, online, as well as corporate sites throughout New Jersey.
