Centenary University and CIANJ are partnering to host the 2024 NJ Family Business of the Year Awards! Family-owned businesses are the largest segment of our economy and the heart of their communities – providing jobs and supporting local schools, teams and organizations.
These awards will take place on October 16, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Park Avenue Club in Florham Park, NJ. (184 Park Ave Florham Park, NJ 07932).
We Are Accepting Nominations!
Help us honor NJ Family-Owned Businesses. Nominate your employer, a vendor, a client, a friend, a business you frequent or your own business. Let’s share as many family business stories as possible.

- Sales Over $10 Million
- Sales Under $10 Million
- Best New Family Business (Under 5 Years Old)
Why Apply?
- Applicants tell us that the application process was a great way for families to reflect on their successes and accomplishments.
- Judges are different from year to year. If you don’t make it one year you may make it the next — reapply.
- If you win: What an honor! Great publicity!
Interviewing Process
- Applications arrive
- A sponsor receives applications and verifies the businesses are viable
- Due diligence interviews are scheduled with each applicant
- The interview gives the business owner (company representative) the opportunity to share their company’s story
- Applications and interviews are copied, put into binders and distributed to judges’
- Judges also receive a scoring guide designed to help them organize the companies
- On a determined day, judges discuss and evaluate all nominees by sales category
