Safe, homelike, and beautiful Centenary campus
Nestled in the valley between Schooley’s Mountain and Buck’s Hill, the green lawns and shady walkways of Centenary’s campus are homelike and safe. From the historic Beaux Arts dome of the Edwardian Seay Building to the state-of-the-art David and Carol Lackland Center for the performing arts, you will learn in a close-knit and caring environment that is free of distractions, yet offers plenty to do.
Getting to, from, and around campus
Hackettstown is served by New Jersey Transit trains and buses, with more options nearby in Dover. The charming shops of Hackettstown’s historic Main Street district are a short walk from campus. We also offer shuttles to popular national chain stores like Target, Walmart, Kohl’s, and Lowe’s.

When you need a break from your studies and the Centenary campus, the area offers a range of attractions.

Explore the numerous historic sites and museums covering hundreds of years of history and dozens of topics.

Hike a nearby segment of the Appalachian Trail or explore the peaks and waterfalls of other close-by hiking trails.

If hiking is not your thing, our area is famous for its bike trails. Canoeing, rafting, and tubing the Musconetcong River or the Delaware River is a blast, and you can join in conservation projects on some of the nearby mountain lakes.
