The mission of the Hunger Free Task Force is to eradicate food insecurity within our Centenary community. The goals of the Hunger Free Task Force include raising awareness of the existing resources and support as well as increasing the opportunities for students to receive the support and necessary items. The members of the task force include:
Centenary University students can donate or request meal swipes through a new program. Centenary has partnered with its food provider, Sodexo to develop programs to address the food insecurities on campus. In the first phase, Sodexo created a meal swipe bank for students experiencing food insecurity. Through this confidential program, students who self-identify as food insecure may request meal swipes per semester. These swipes can be used in the cafeteria or at the Starbucks on campus.

Laptops are available to borrow for a short-term loan. Laptops are due at closing time on the day borrowed. If you need one for a longer period, speak to the library staff, and we will try to work it out. There is no fee to borrow a laptop, but the late return of a laptop may incur a fine.

The Food Project: Nourishing Our Neighbors at Project Self-Sufficiency makes nourishing, essential food available to Sussex and Warren County, NJ, individuals and families in times of financial hardship.

WIC is a New Jersey Supplemental Nutrition Program available to no income or low-income families who are experiencing financial hardships. The program offers healthy food choices, community support, and nutrition education. Pregnant women, and post-partum women, as well as children up to five years old are eligible.

NJ TRANSIT has two options that allow discounts for University/College students:
The University Partnership – NJ TRANSIT Student Pass- offers degree seeking full-time and part-time undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to purchase a rail, bus or light rail monthly pass using the NJ TRANSIT MobileApp®at 25% off the regular monthly pass price.
Students enroll through their participating school’s website, to set up their Student Pass Account. After completing the online registration, Student Pass will be shown as a ticket choice during the purchase periodwithin the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App. Schools must have an SAT College code to apply for the online program. Application for Student Tickets - full-time and part-time students attending a school on the NJ TRANSIT Accredited School list may purchase a discounted rail pass at an NJ TRANSIT rail station ticket office by completing the Official Application for Student Tickets. This discount is only available for rail monthly passes, not bus or light rail. Students need to have the application stamped or signed by their school to verify enrollment and then bring the application back to any NJ TRANSIT ticket office to purchase their monthly pass. There are over 500 schools on the list.
Student Interns
Student interns that attend an NJ TRANSIT accredited school may purchase a student monthly pass if the internship is through the school, is part of the program to obtain a degree, and it is an unpaid internship. Students must submit a letter, written on the school letterhead stating that the unpaid internship is a required part of the school program toobtain the student's degree.

Travel Flexibility- The Student Pass also provides the same travel flexibility of a NJ TRANSIT rail monthly pass. Students have the flexibility to use rail Student Pass or monthly pass valued at $59 or more on buses and light rail lines for trips of equal or lesser value.
