NJ STARS II Program

You must meet the following criteria to be considered for the NJ STARS II program:

• You must be an NJ STARS I student during your final semester at your community college.
• You must earn your associate degree and graduate with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25.
• Your total family income must be less than $250,000.
• You must apply for all forms of State and Federal need-based aid and submit any requested documentation to complete or verify your information within the appropriate deadlines.
• You must begin as a full-time NJ STARS II student at Centenary no later than the second semester immediately following your NJ STARS I graduation.

Please let your admission counselor know that you are currently an NJ STARS I student when you apply for admission at Centenary.

If you are interested in the NJ STARS II program at Centenary, the following will get you where you need to go.

• Confirm with your community college that you are in the NJ STARS I program and are scheduled to graduate on time.
• Be sure to keep an eye on your GPA – you will need a 3.25 cumulative GPA.
• Submit your application to Centenary! You can submit your supplemental items after you have applied.
• Add Centenary to your FAFSA. Centenary’s federal school code is 002599.
• Let your admission counselor know that you are an NJ STARS I student.

While we can’t tell you your exact cost to attend Centenary until you have been admitted and we have received your completed FAFSA, below are some of the opportunities that are available.

• You will receive your admission award with your acceptance to Centenary. See the listing of potential awards below.
• Upon completion of your FAFSA, we will determine your eligibility for the Federal Pell Grant and NJ Tuition Aid Grant (TAG) as well as any other federal, state, or Centenary grants.
• We will consider you for a Recognition Awards of $1,500/year when you graduate with your associate degree.
• We will also consider you for a Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship of $2,500/year if you are an active member of PTK.

In addition to the awards above, you will also be considered for the following awards based on your cumulative college GPA:

Awards above are annual. Students who attend only 1 semester in an academic year will be eligible for ½ of the annual amount.
