Whether you are promoting yourself or selling a product, marketing skills will help you succeed in any line of business

Marketing

With Centenary University’s Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration, Marketing concentration, you will learn how to develop and sell the right products for the right people at the right time. Our program focuses on ways to maximize sales by developing strong brands backed by strong products or services.

The Marketing curriculum follows our core Business Administration coursework during the first two years, including classes in accounting, management and finance. Upper level classes focus on topics including marketing research, sales strategy and advertising management.

Many students complete the Marketing concentration in conjunction with our Management concentration — a tract that offers a highly desirable combination of sought-after business skills.

A critical business skill

A solid marketing program is critical to the health of any company. With a Marketing degree, you will have the opportunity to pursue careers in fields including marketing, marketing research and brand management as well as sales, promotions and public relations.

Centenary’s Marketing students have gone on to careers with some of the biggest brand names including Bed, Bath & Beyond, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club and ADP. The list grows even longer when you include students in majors such as Communication and Fashion who also minor in Marketing.

A resume builder

As a Marketing student, you will have the opportunity to develop and present a marketing plan to a real, local business in the Hackettstown area. In many cases, students find that their business clients adopt part, if not all, of their marketing plan’s suggestions. The result: A real-life marketing portfolio to show to potential employers during job interviews.

Marketing skills will be extremely useful wherever your career takes you.
