At Centenary, we support students in achieving academic success.

We focus on:

• Speaking: Conversation practice, class discussion skills, and pronunciation
• Listening: Strategies to understand lectures or classmates and note-taking
• Reading: Strategies to read class texts, and vocabulary building
• Writing: Analyzing assignments, organizing ideas, and editing grammar

We work to:

• Help students become independent learners by analyzing assignments
• Work toward English proficiency in writing and public speaking
• Provide guidance with homework, course content, and build background knowledge

En Centenary, apoyamos a los estudiantes para que logren el éxito académico.

Nos centramos en:

• Hablar: Práctica de conversación, habilidades de discusión en clase, y pronunciación.
• Escucha: Estrategias para entender clases o compañeros, y tomar notas.
• Lectura: Estrategias para leer textos de clase, y desarrollo de vocabulario.

Trabajamos para:

Community ESL Classes

Centenary University offers ESL classes to the community that targets English language development. Classes are available to adults in the community – free of charge. This is not a credit-bearing course.

The classes offer:

• English instruction for non-native speakers
• Information on community resources
