To be considered for the EOP program, you must:
- Submit an official high school transcript or GED equivalent
- Meet the NJ State-mandated Income Guidelines
- Submit copies of your and your parents’ (if applicable) 2021 and 2022 federal and state income tax returns.
- Must demonstrate an educationally and economically disadvantaged background
- Must be a New Jersey resident 12 consecutive months prior to receiving the award
- Must meet the academic criteria as set by the institution of choice
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the New Jersey Alternative Financial Aid Application
- Complete an application for admission to Centenary University
- Complete the Centenary EOP Questionnaire
- Enroll as a full-time student

Prospective Transfer Students
Prospective transfer students interested in applying for the EOF must complete an admission application to Centenary University. The university accepts both the CommonApp or Centenary University application. Transfer students are not required to complete the 5-week Summer Enrichment EOP.
Students who have received EOF funding at another New Jersey college or university should inform our program. A staff member at the student’s previous institution will be asked to complete the EOF Transfer Form. Students must still meet all of the eligibility criteria listed below.
Students who have not received EOF funding at another institution are still eligible to apply for EOF funding and participate in EOP at Centenary University upon transferring in. Students will be asked to provide the same tax and income information as first-year applicants.
EOP Summer Enrichment for Incoming Freshmen
Starting in July, prior to the beginning of their first semester, EOP students attend a summer enrichment program. The program introduces students to the academic and social rigor of college life and familiarizes them with Centenary’s campus. In addition, students will participate in study hall, socially enriching activities and a variety of workshops.
Students strengthen their coursework skills by taking the following courses:

- Academic Applications in Learning Theory
- Cultural Competence/Awareness
