Intercollegiate Dressage Association - IDA

The mission of The Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA), is to introduce students to the equestrian discipline of dressage and to foster continued development, understanding and appreciation of the art of dressage through organized student competitions and educational opportunities. The IDA is affiliated with the United States Dressage Federation (USDF) and the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF).

The IDA is a national organization that is divided into regions for the purpose of intercollegiate competition. Centenary’s IDA competes in region C against other colleges in the tri-state area. At each show individual and team points and ribbons are earned, which count towards regional standings and qualification for national finals.

At IDA shows, collegiate riders compete at the Introductory Level (Intro A & Intro B), Lower Training Level (Intro C & Training Level Test 1), Upper Training Level (Training Level Test 2 & 3), and First Level. Host colleges provide the horses used during competitions, and each rider has a random draw, which adds to the challenge and sportsmanship of the competition.

The IDA Team, coached by Mallory Chambers, travels to shows in New York and Pennsylvania as well as hosting competitions at the Centenary University Equine Center. The IDA team has won many titles including most recently:
