Biography

Assistant Professor Matt Mendres earned his B.A. in Broadcasting from Montclair State College in 1990, after which he became a producer/director at Cablevision of New Jersey. He earned a CableACE Award nomination for his documentary series “Looking Back,” and his feature work was recognized by the North Jersey Press Club. Professor Mendres maintained an active freelance career, working for The Grammy Awards, The Tony Awards, ABC News and ABC Sports.

Professor Mendres received his M.A. in Broadcast Journalism from New York University in 1997. Between 1998 and 2003, he was the director of the evening and nighttime newscasts at News 12 New Jersey, while teaching television production, journalism and public speaking courses at Caldwell College, Kean University and William Paterson University. He joined Centenary’s faculty in 2004.
